Watching the evening news tonight:

A. Iran, rich in oil, is rationing gas to 28 gallons per car per month. They are lighting govt buildings on fire in Tehran.

B. First day of heat in NYC and power goes out for 1 hour reminding people of 2003 blackout! First day of heat and Con Ed can't keep power going?

C. Air flight delays and cancellations...4 out of every 10 flights either canceled or delayed longer than 2-3 hours. Our airlines are a mess, people sleeping on cots by the hundreds in many airports.

D. Govt can't find 16 BILLION in military funding for Iraqi recruits or weapons we stockpiled for them.

What a day...

Are we quickly becoming a 3rd world country?

You ever watch Dark Angel? It's set in 2019 and the US has become a third world country...in that case, Terrorists set off a nuke high above the US called the Pulse, it fried all our computer systems and wiped out much of this country's wealth in a millisecond. That may be fantasy but today the world economy is a complicated mess...gotta wonder what a full crash of the net and other computer systems would produce?
