Default Royal Ascot

I'm headed to London for a family vacation. Royal Ascot opens Tuesday June 19th. Anybody have experience there? I know there are 2 Group 1s and 2 Group 2s that day. I have purchased general admission tickets from thier website, but have questions about handicapping materials and wagering.
I also wonder if they simulcast US racing in London. I have a horse in the
8th at Monmouth on Thursday. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

The track looks amazing but the viewing needs to be improved from last year and the atmosphere is actually terrible... Most of the people there dont even watch the races, they just stay in the bars, looking pretty drinking their Pimms. It is quite a sight seeing everyone dressed up in top hats and tails.

You should be able to at least bet on the race in Monmouth and Im sure there are places to view it. Some bookies show US racing in the evening but Im not too up to date on how it works in London..

Regarding handicapping, just get a racing post and try to decipher the form from there (not as complete as the DRF but gets the job done). We'll be talking about it here Im sure as well..

The best thing you can get to help with handicapping is the day's issue of the Racing Post, rather like your DRF.

The bets are much different over here, and although we do have the exactas and Tris, they aren't as popular over here really. you can do them on the Tote, though.

I haven't been to Ascot since it re opened, but last year many people didn't like it, i'm afraid to say, the viewing was poor. I hope they have improved it (they say they have). There will be fantastic horses there, though...... so you will be treated with some of the best racing in Europe this summer.

As far as watching American racing is concerned. If the place where you are staying has satelite television (sky) you should be able to get AtTheRaces, and in the evening they use TVG coverage, and Monmouth is usually on.

Hope this helps. any other questions, you can PM me or ask directly on here.
