HOly mackerel...

That was a hell of a run. This horse has some speed and stamina now.

a world of difference, this horse actually wants to win now and is running to the talent it showed in its previous barns

He looked awesome, thank god he is not owned by Greg Norman anymore. That guy was just destroying this nice horse, shipping this horse all over the country and running him over his head. Now he is in a good stable. Congrats to Contessa for having him on top of his game.

Great job by Contessa, that was very impressive, 47 and change. Moves in as a contender in older division.

He has got to be taken as threat for some big fall stakes.
Not that he beat a great field, but with the way he ran that race.
Not much went right and the horse overcame. Good for him.

Should be a nice older horse season

Invasor
Papi Chullo
Corinthian
OldSalt
AP Arrow

maybe we will get some 7 or 8 horse fields instead or 4 horse fields

Dont know about wanting Invasor tho

Often times the under card on Belmont Stakes day is the stage that launches a horse to stardom. It happened to Left Bank and now Papi Chullo. He is a rising star.

He is by little known western NY sire Comeonmom (Jolies Halo).

It has been awhile since I have watched Papi Chullo race. He looked like a totally different horse than I remember. He is fit, determined and appears that he wants to race and compete. It sure was fun to watch him race today.

Just enough milkshake to make the differance.

I'm not sure that it's a sign of a good season when the top contenders include Papi Chullo, Hesanoldsalt and AP Arrow. These three horses have only moved up because of the lack of any good horses. They are like the guys that become pro bowl football players only because the real pro bowlers opt out of the game. Don't be fooled.

Like has been said before, he is finally in a barn that isn't going to do crazy things with him. I'm not saying he's going to beat Invasor, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a major player in the Whitney and Woodward this summer.
I remember I gave Papi Chullo a big shot for one of the big 3yo races in Florida even though he was still a maiden. I've felt that the talent was always there but if it's never put together, it's basically useless. It was good to see him do well today and it was a huge step forward, IMO......but when I look at who he beat, and see Hesanoldsalt, AP Arrow and Evening Attire.....it's a little hard to get excited. Outside of Invasor, I don't think there is a single older horse based back east that would scare me out of any race so with that said, he could be a major player in those races u mentioned. But of course, if Invasor isn't in the race, u could probably say just about any horse is a major player.
