Default Worst turf jock in country out for a while!

well, maybe not that bad, but he was horrible on Excellant Art, faces a 10 day ban, with another 2 day ban from Saturday... could well be out for the Derby and Oaks..
I was a big fan of him when I was growing up, but he rides a lot of horses that should win, but acts way too confident.. from ireland.com

An appeal by Irish jockey Jamie Spencer against the two-day ban he picked up at Ascot on Saturday will be heard on Thursday.

The former champion jockey is hoping to reverse the decision of the local stewards to suspend him on May 23rd and 24th for not riding out for sixth place on High Heel Sneakers in the Bovis Homes Buckhounds Stakes.

Spencer was given a 10-day suspension (May 22-May 31 inclusive) at Longchamp on Sunday after finishing fourth on Excellent Art in the French 2000 Guineas.

The Horserace Regulatory Authority today informed the French authorities the two suspensions coincide.

Should Spencer win his appeal against the Ascot ban the dates of the French suspension would stand.

However, if he fails and he does not appeal against the Longchamp decision he faces missing the two-day Epsom meeting featuring the Derby and the Oaks on June 1st and 2nd

He has been dreadful lately, hasn't he.

Did you see some of the rides he gave horses at Windsor this evening, very poor! the betfair forum has been full over "Spencer" threads started by very angry punters, and i don't blame them. At the moment, you could lay all of his mounts and make a healthy profit, what makes it worse is that he will most likely be champion this year while Ryan Moore is still injured - now he is a proper jockey, non of this stylish larking about, he just gets the job done.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPtRZVj_gxo thats the clip of the french 2000, Spencer's the one in Dark Blue at the back. Brilliant picture of Tabor and O'Brien after the race, with a lovely shake of the hands in splendid isolation, a job well done!!

didnt get to see any of Windsor tonight.... i suppose i feel for punters as you see him so often on a horse thinking he's brilliant and expects the horse to quicken up instantly and gain 2L.. very few horses can do it..

I remember last year at Royal Ascot, he was getting alot of praise for being top jockey (well by the BBC!) but he had so many good mounts that he put into horrible positions and had a fair few 2nds that he should have won. Hoh Mike was one of the more obvious ones..

He basically just barged through.. terrible.. the thing is, there was plenty of room outside for him to go out at around the 2f mark but he tried to go through a wall of horses..
