If only TWP would admit the track was a disgrace. Woodbine has already stated the track is a disaster. The only happy polytrack customer is Keeneland, and they own half the company.

Im not a fan of any synthetic, but I would say without a doubt the cushion is the best one Ive seen. None are as good as a conventional, even, dirt surface

"Keeneland’s track is an old style Polytrack (with a variety of waxed plastics that have become difficult to find) and I’d say the best track in the world.

"We are currently doing Arlington in Chicago -- that’s an old style Polytrack -- and we’re also doing Del Mar in California. There it is the new style Polytrack (with a plastic fiber manufactured by Collins in Belgium).

"Turfway Park is already complete and that’s new style. Woodbine in Toronto is new style but we are doing remedial work there and upgrading it as a result of a few problems.

Tell me I'm reading this wrong. They admit to having problems with the new style tracks at Woodbine and Turfway. They say they did Keeneland in the old style way and that it's the best track in the world. They say they are doing Arlington in the old style way. Why in the world are they doing Del Mar in the new style?

The makers also foget to mention that racing was canceled in Britain this winter when the temps went below freezing because of it balling up and coming back like frozen grapefruits. Makes me think of when I used to ride at Waterford Park ( now Mountaineer) and the frozen dirt clods would just pulvarize you , break your nose , bust your lip open and chip your teeth.
Most trainers would run their horses in screens to try and save their eyes from being put out .
Should we really be running horses when its below freezing anyway ?

I think because you really dont have to worry about it getting below freezing in San Diego .

It is blatantly bad at Woodbine and Turfway. I think the only reason they are running the "new" poly at Delmar
is because the temps don't drop down to freezing
