Default Magnificience out with injury

From drf.com

The dazzling 3-year-old filly Magnificience will be sidelined until next year because a chip was discovered in her left front ankle that requires minor surgery.
Magnificience burst to prominence with a breathtaking debut March 11 at Santa Anita, and followed with a five-length win April 1 in the Grade 3 Santa Paula Stakes. But soon after she won the 6 1/2-furlong Santa Paula with a 109 Beyer Speed Figure - highest of the year by a 3-year-old of either gender - Magnificience developed heat in an ankle.

Lets just say the way this horse worked and ran in her races that she was probably on something to calm her nerves.

Who knows, but if I had to bet, I would wager that she will be seeing AP Indy (or someone in his line of work) rather than any racetrack next year.

They will point her towards the Graded La Canada and Santa Anita Oaks next year is my guess. They might have a chance now that Santa Anita will change from crippling dirt to a artifical surface. Headley and Baffert were two that wouldn't train on Hollywood's Cushion track and they have had a lot of horses hit the shelf.

Unless I have totally lost it (a distinct possibility), won't she be 4 next year, and therefore ineligible for races like the Santa Anita Oaks?
I hope she does come back, and perhaps I have just become too cynical about these things in the last few years, but given the brilliance of her two lifetime starts, and the apparent "severity" of the injury....I would be a bit surprised if she ever returns to the track.

Baffert trains a whole string at Hollywood about 35 head Id say. His first string has always been at Santa Anita and his second string at Hollywood , you cant get 60 stalls at either facility so he has to split them just like everybody else.

You're right. I should of said the El Encino. The races that are restricted to 4 yo Fillys at Santa Anita.

Thanks for the information. I really thought Baffert had all his horses that are ready to race at Santa Anita.

Let's just say that your conjecture is as nonsensical as you are.
