Anybody know what's up w/ her for the Oaks? Got her listed as off the trail. Lemon Drop Kid was one of my favs.

Default Lemons!!

I was surprised to hear she wasn't in either. After all it was a Lemon Drop kid horse who won the Oaks last year at a HUGE $. Hopefully we will see her in the Black Eyed susan????

I would think Jimmy Jerkens would be more likely to run her in NY, in some of the old Triple Tiara series races. Perhaps she'll start next on the Belmont Stakes undercard in the Acorn

The same may be true for a filly I like; Boca Grande
looks like Shug is pointing her for the "black eyes" too.

Hmmm, going to make for a difficult decision in the 3yo contest.

According to Jimmy, she wil be going to the Acorn. He didn't feel that the filly would be able to handle the distance of the Oaks. Jimmy knows what is best for the horse, and she sure is talented.

Agree 100%...I actually like the fact that a few trainers like JJ and Shug are not "blinded" by the bright lights of the Oaks and will do what they feel is best for their respective fillies...plus Shug would never ship 1/2 way across the country to hook somone who is 1/5....also, I bet if you asked both of those guys they would absolutely tell you the Alabama is a much more important race to them than the Oaks.
