Regardless of how much I love any horse in this family -- I think Lewis Michael is a big stand-against today in most wagers except wider multi-race wagers.

He's got the class to dispatch these, but a look back at his turf form only lands him a slice on the lower rungs. Perhaps his class will carry him here, and he's tractable enough, but I don't like him in this spot one bit.

Put it on the dirt and he romps.

Kinda like the #1 Classic Fran a bit..."Baron" showed a new running style in last, but two of his three lifetime victories are at the Spa.
Will be using the #2 and #3 also

Hock..

Funny anout him.. This is an odd and difficult race and I looked long and hard at Trippi's Storm here as a possible alternative. First, Trippi's don't turf much or well, and Hough is dreadful moving horses over from the main. (Though hw has been working him on the lawn since his last effort and must like what he sees). But add in the stretchout and there was a lot not to like.

Early on when I started getting into horses, someone told me or I read that it's a caution to bet on horses being asked to do something for the first time. It has always stayed with me and it applies in this case. While not without a chance to do something here, we'd be asking Trippi's Storm to do some things he's never demonstrated he can do before and the odds we get for doing so appear short versus several other options...

I like Right Hand Red in there at what might be a pretty sweet double-digit price.

He's a half to Foxzy Lady who was an 11-time winner, and sire Crowd Pleaser was pretty imposing on the grass himself.

Sheppard has palatable stats with firsters, and some good numbers in the five times he's asked Trujillo to ride.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him need a race or two, but I figure there could be some decent value on him and he could very well make an impact here.

Good work! And now I can envision getting the next 4 in P6 and being sick you didn't motivate me to use him...

Good for you! Nice hit.

The talent was there from back when that one was racing, but there were a ton of questions as Steve pointed out.

Great way to stick to your original instinct.

I'm laughing at this because I have a thing for Trippis. I have them in my stable alert eveyday. Only sire in my stable alert--all trainers, otherwise.

I can't believe the public is being smart enough to stay away from this one a little bit. . . If anyone was going to get bet down to 3/5 I'd expect it to be him (even though BVT is the deserving fave)

Figures. Just watched the replay too -- and he did it with something to spare late which was good to see. Nobody was coming for him until Douglas held him up.
