Default Race#8 GP 03/14/2007-joint effort here??

Can we collectively find the winner here by jointly doing it, or other value plays in this race?

Any race, any card, anyday

I would hope so, or get close anyway

just curious why you picked a 6500 claimer as 'the race'?

like finding the beauty queen in an old people's home....

Isn't this what we like to do?

Any race, any card, anyday

This is one race in the late P4, so sometimes it's fun to collectivley work together and try to single a horse, and work around that. Doesn't have to be this race, I just through it out there to see if anyone was interested in the idea.

OK I think it's a bad race but it does qualify as 'any' race.

Considering odds I like Victory Walk. In pic 4's I'd have to use 2,5,6,7 and maybe 1 and 8 to feel comfortable getting through so it's a pass race. Going cheap I'd have to use the 6,7 and take a chance.

Do you think the 1 in the 6th is beatable?

Stormy Fellow looks really good at what might be a decent price.

Richochet probably looks the next most likely winner, with Kwik Bullet and Whiskey Sez both capable of a big turnaround after dissappointing races.

So basically, give me half the field

I'd cap it
1.) Stormy Fellow 8-1
2.) Richochet 3-1
3.) Whiskey Sez 8-1

Doesn't look like it today. 5fl is over before it starts. Should find this field an easy mark, droping down this far in class.

I was just looking at that one. On paper, that one looks pretty tough. The only upside if you're looking to bet against him is that he's run what amounts to basically three consecutive career tops. You've got to figure that run has to end sometime, right? He's bound to take a step back closer to where he was running the last year sooner or later.

Bankin' Cash looks like the one to capitalize if he fails to fire. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

Just my $0.02

I agree and that's why it's easy to go by the 8th because this pic 4 isn't a good play today IMO.

another vote of confidence for the gulfstream racing secretary who continues to bastardize the P4 . After all , usually, the 8th race of a 9 race card is called the "days feature", so we have a so-called "A" level track running a $6K claimer as its feature. Lovely, JF lovely ! Usually, i avoid the first couple of races there, as they are cheap races with small fields. Now , I am avoiding the P4 and p3's because of the $6K claimer, way to go gulfstream.

3 DANCES is swithching barns, and Morgan has a knack for getting this kind over the line first. If the race unfolds with him stalking, look for this guy to be passing horses very quickly around the far turn. Has a nice workout, so seems ready enough to roll.

I admit freely that my weakest area of handicapping is the bottom claimers...I hate to even try...I wouldn't bet this race with someone else's money.

I use to feel the same way, but have approached these a little different. These will most likely not be claimed, but the 9,000 purse is what they need to pay the help. So trainers are more apt to find a nice spot, where they feel they can be a winner. I look a little deeper, and try to find such a trainer.
