![]() he was put down in jan. i didn't know if it had been posted yet.
http://racing.bloodhorse.com/viewstory.asp?id=37891 from bloodhorse: (if the link doesn't work) Chace City, a grade II winner at Saratoga at 2 last year, was euthanized Jan. 16 following complications from an impacted intestine. His death came days after he registered his first workout of the year at M & H Training & Sales near Reddick, Fla. Owned by Al Gold's Gold Square, Chace City scored his big win in the Saratoga Special Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. II) over King of the Roxy last August. Following the Saratoga Special, Chace City developed a case of colic, from which he recovered, but he never started again. A son of Carson City, Chace City was bought by agent Buzz Chace for Gold for $400,000 from his breeder, Carl Pollard's Hermitage Farm, at the 2005 Keeneland September yearling sale. Chace City, who was produced from the Honour and Glory mare General Jeanne, won three of four races and earned $219,783. He also captured the Victoria Stakes at Woodbine. |
