Default Haskin Chat on Bloodhorse -Comments on First Samurai

Chat right now on bloodhorse.

I know there are First Samurai fans here, interesting that Haskin thinks he might be done racing. I would think they race him atleast 1 or 2 more times, but might be smart financially to just throw him on the farm.

Mount Morris, MI
I've always loved First Samurai, and I hated to see him fall from the spotlight. What do you see for his future?

Haskin
It all depends on how quickly his cracked ribs heal. This isn't a common injury, so I don't know the recovery time for something like this. He had a hard-luck campaign, but proved last year, and in his first two starts this year, that he is a very talented horse. I hope he can make it back. But with his pedigree and his looks, he'd have to be 100% recovered for his owners to continue on with him. I'm sure he will be popular with the breeders.

Lansdon is eagerly awaiting his return to teh racetrack. Both he and his partner have tremendous pride in him and were left with a bitter taste in their mouths off his last race. If you are trying to use the comments of someone who doesnt know lansdon or his partner's intentions to infer something, you are wrong. The horse will race again unless he sustains some new setback in his future training, other than that, I know they are eager to show hes a runner.
