Default Rogue Agent alert

The handsome 8 year old bay gelding is back in action on Friday at Aqueduct, 1st race.

Not an easy spot as both Papua and Ryan is Flying are both in career form.

Interior Designer looked like a winner last time only to be nailed on the wire, so hes also one to beat in here.

Good luck Rogue Agent. We all love you.

Hey, Multiple Choice got it done last Friday for the first time since like Bill Clinton was the president, maybe it's Rogue Agent's turn...

Was thinking the same thing. Multiple Choice's last win was a little over a week before Birdstone beat Smarmy Jones.....seriously.

Yes I knew. I have that race on tape. I remember the day Rogue Agent ran
2nd to Landosn's horse last year. Offlee Wild I think.

Oracle and Ateam were in the winner's circle that day.

I didn't realize it until Steve mailed me and said you said that. I had him singled in the final leg of the P6 after my backup tickets got ripped up... his last win was on 5/30/04 in the G3 Jaipur. Wow... that's a long time between drinks for a pretty decent horse.

Was that one of the years that the Jaipur was taken off the turf?
Maybe the year Great Notion also was in the race and was around 5/1?
I seem to remember that race.

It was because of me that Mulitiple Choice was able to get up and blow by Alarmed last week. I posted that he was a great bet against at short odds because he hadnt won a race in so long.

You are referring to the day Offlee Wild took over and drew away and Rogue held on for 2nd? I remember it like yesterday. Oracle and Ateam waved to everybody in the Winner's cirlce. It was sloppy that day, you are right.

Hey Scuds, your old pet Nebraska Moon is in on Friday. Which one shows up? The one who wins for fun at 8/1 or the one who burns people's paychecks at 6/5?

No,this race was at the end of May of 2004.Beat some Frankel allowance horse on a Friday feature race.I don't want to talk about Nebraska Moon.I very much resent the trainer (who had him) for running him hurt.He wanted to get rid of him.Hopefully somebody else has him.

Oh I know the race, cant think of the Frankel horse he beat, but I have the race on tape somewhere. Hes a game horse who just forgot how to win. Give him his track and maybe he gets it done. Papua and Ryan the Flyer aint much.

Sorry I brought up Nebraska Moon. I didnt know you had a bad experience with him, only remembered you posted a couple times about him, good or bad I couldnt remember. I have no idea who has him now.

Tough Game has been retired and is grazing in a field in Northern California.
He made me happy for at least 1/2 day.

Stop hijacking my thread Kev! This is all about one of the best geldings on the ground- Rogue Agent. Hes got a great cruisng speed and once upon a time was always on the lead. He lost some of that speed. Wonder if its his age or his trainer?

Anyway you slice it, Rogue Agent may very well be the best betting value in this race. But demand 8/1 on him.

If he doesnt do well here, look for him next at Tampa Bay Downs

I don't think ol' Roque gets to the front against Papua. That was has run 2 straight good routes after a very solid sprint career. I like those NYB starters. Anyone remember the one where they all finished about 1 length apart? Roque and Dont Knock America were both it it.

Yes Linny, I remember that race. Like 6 of them within 1 length at the end.
You think Papua outsprints Rogue Agent?

Rogue Agent is coming off a layoff I think. Fresh speed is usually the best speed. I wouldnt be surprised if he reverts back to old times and sprints to the lead here.

I missed Papua's last race although I know he won. Did he show more speed than usual? Hes always been somewhat of a closer but then again those were sprints and he always did keep very good company. I remember he raced against Don Six last winter.

The old Roque would eat these on the lead but his speed has been lacking, at least on a consistant basis. Dominquez will ride and I dont see him as a dominant front end rider.
Papua got to an easy least last time but two back he stalked, about 1 1/2 lengths from the front. He's just a tough old bird who can beat you in many ways. I wanted to kill myself when he held on last time, he was almost 3-1 and I didn't play the race.

We may have to bet one of those overpriced ice cream cones on which horse is in front after the first quarter of this race. Or do you want to make it after the first half?

If neither has the lead, the bet is a push.

Default Scuds- Rogue Agent

Is this the race you were referring to:

11/19) Rogue Agent cruises to open allowance victory
New York-bred ROGUE AGENT won his second consecutive open allowance with another wire-to-wire effort over the sloppy going at Aqueduct Racetrack. Despite his previous easy score, 12-days prior, when he won by 3-1/4 lengths, Rogue Agent went to the post at odds of 7-2 in the NW-2X other than Maiden, Claiming, Starter or Restricted condition allowance, which carried a $50,000 purse. Run at 1-1/8th mile around two-turns, 7-horses went to the post with rider Norberto Arroyo, Jr. aboard Rogue Agent for trainer Michael Brice.

Quickest of all out of the gate, Rogue Agent won the run into the first turn and dictated the pace of the race throughout. After a half-mile in 48.2 and three-quarters in 1:12.1, the unchallenged Rogue Agent came to the top of the stretch with a commanding 4-length lead, which he increased to 6-lengths crossing the wire. Final time was 1:51 flat.

Claimed for $30,000 by Scott Fein and Gene Parrotta, Rogue Agent has now won twice for the new connections and finished second in his only other outing. Fein and Parrotta qualified for an open owner's award of $6,000 for today's score. Rogue Agent has now banked $198,795 with a Lifetime Record: 24-6-3-2.

Bred by Eaton & Thorne, Inc., which qualified for a $6,000 breeder award, Rogue Agent was consigned to Fasig-Tipton Midlantic's October 2000 yearling sale in Timonium, Maryland, by Thomas J. and Nadine Gallo, agent, and bought by Spendthrift Farm, which signed the sales slip for $10,000. His sire is former New York stallion Anjiz, who had stood at Louis Salerno's Questroyal Stud in Hudson and whose owners of four years ago -- Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid al Maktoum's Kentucky-based Gainsborough Farm and Questroyal #100 LLC -- qualified for a $2,100 stallion award. The chestnut gelding is the ninth winner produced from Ruler's Storm, being a full brother to one winner and a half-brother to Grade 2 NYRA winner Love That Mac ($864,085) and to the winning granddam of stakes winner Shandra Smiles. Dam Ruler's Storm, who is by Irish Ruler, is a half-sister to the dam of French Group 1 winner Escaline and Italian Group 3 winner Esdale (their dam also is granddam of German champion Royal Abjar) and to the granddams of Mexican champion Pensativa and French Group 2 winner Califet. Rogue Agent's co-breeder, Oakleigh Thorne of Amenia, had purchased Ruler's Storm for $27,000 at Keeneland's 1990 November Sale.
