Joe Aquillino passes at 76
Originally a NYC firefighter, Joe Aquillino made his way to the racetrack in the mid-70's and sustained a 40 year training career. Among Derby Trailers, Chuck knew him best having shared GSW Sabellina with Joe, but I got to know him these past 10 years and am better for it. He was a sweet and gentle soul that was an engaging companion. He learned the craft working for Frank Labocetta Sr. while still a smoke eater and became an excellent horseman. He leaves a lovely family and hearts go out to wife Victoria, his 3 daughters and son Nick.
