Default Shoutout to Mount

Adams, that is. McCarthy's Pub and the Blind Lemon. And of course a stop on my way back across the river at Skyline or various other chili parlors. Your references to Cincy bands brought a to my face, sparking more than a few synapses. Steve, did you ever go to the Blue Wisp? The WEBN fireworks on the river, not to mention the Fool's Day parade.

O/D,

That was an impromptu riff inspired by 'Bright Lights, Big City'. I loved living in Cincinnati and had insane fun as a Warsaw Falcons follower. My neighbor in "The Shadows" apartments in Mt. Adams owned Corey's, and kept telling me to come check it out. That's where I first saw them, and many of my most enjoyable moments from 3+ years living there were generated via Falcons shows. I bought a house on Fairfield in E. Walnut Hills after about a year in Mt. Adams, and loved that neighborhood. There are so many things I could write about 'Nati-related. Reds games. Riverfest. Octoberfest. The eateries: The Barn/Rib Pit (Rusty Staub's favorite restaurant in America), Arnold's, Arthur's, The Blue Gibbon, Izzy's, The Diner on Sycamore, Aglamesis. On and on..

Still smiling, reading your comments. My Dad worked downtown, and I'll never forget the first time I went to have lunch with him, at Izzy's of course. Reds -- my cousin has a row of seats from Crosley Field. I practically grew up listening to Joe Nuxhall on the radio. Coming from across the river, Mt. Adams and Clifton offered the choicest drinking destinations, once I became (nearly) of age. 3-2 beer
Cincinnati always seems to get bad press in the national news, which is a shame. There are a lot of great things about the area. It's nice to hear someone who has the ear of the public give it the praise I think it deserves.
