Default Zenyatta photos

I went by the barn yesterday before flying home and spent some time with Zenyatta. I took some photos and thought I'd share them...

That third one is pretty cute and funny.

It looks like she is imitating her fans.

I was kneeling down to get a different angle on my photos and she walked up to me and started sniffing my camera. I got several shots of her snout before she started trying to eat my camera. I had to let her sniff it for a while before she'd let me go back to taking photos. She's very inquisitive and loves attention from people - if you like personable horses, you'll love Zenyatta

Yes, I'm one of THOSE fans...

Believe me, I understand being a drooling fan when it comes to horses.

For Dog's sake, I used to sing in the shower about Rahy. I was obsessed.

I was obsessed with IC too. Shortly after his debut, I got a derby future bet on him at 150/1, and I checked for workouts for him every single day, even though I knew he was not in training.

Still, I never became completely idiotic about things like some of these Z fans do. I would never have called Rahy the greatest horse ever and than gotten all defensive like when anyone dared question his obvious greatness.

Believe it or not, I do like Zenyatta. She's a cool horse that has a really neat presence. Her connections are assholes though, and a significant number of her fans have completely lost touch with reality.

I don't see you being one of them.

I'm pretty sure I'm not one of her crazed fans, there were some very obsessed people at HP this past weekend I enjoy the show she puts on and I am fortunate enough to have had a chance to be around her on several occasions and find her to be a great personality... But I felt that way about the $4,000 claimer that I rescued (Nopie).

I was just as excited to see Richard's Kid this weekend (and I won a heck of a lot more money on him!)... I am a fan of this sport and respect and admire the stars of this sport - jockeys , trainers and the horses

Nopie is permanently retired to GEVA and is as happy as a horse can be. He's got two friends with him in his paddock and he's enjoying being a horse. His coat is grown out, he gets dirty and muddy whenever he wants and is completely spoiled by the volunteers that help out there. I was looking for a lifetime home for him but nothing compared to the love and care he was getting at GEVA. I couldn't move him from a place he loved so much and where he was loved so he'll be staying there as long as they'll have him.

I just wanted him to be a happy horse, and he's doing that at GEVA. Thanks for asking about him!

This is really great! Kind of reminds me of Justa Bob from Jane Smiley's book.

A friend told me there was a video on Youtube of me and Zenyatta, this is from when I took the photo of her sticking her tongue out:

I know it's hard to tell but I'm wearing my Dee Tee Stables hat
