Default Rachel

Is Shaun Bridgmohan replacing Calvin? He's been on her for the last 2 slow works... Shouldn't Asmussen let Calvin take Rachel out and let her roll for a change. Let her have some fun. He's ruining her speed.

They were talking about this on TVG the other day. They said that regular exercise rider Dominic Terry has been replaced. They were questioning whether Calvin will be replaced too.

Zenyatta.

I just thought I'd be the first one to mention her in this thread even though it has nothing to do with her. More to follow I'm sure.

They would be rather dumb to replace Borel with Shaun Bridgemoron.

Seems like just about anyone is 'riding' RA these days.

RA needs to be put on the engine. Plain and simple. Let her roll up front, free wheelin on the chooch and play catch me if you can.

I don't think a change from Calvin to Shaun would be that much of a difference, if its not at Churchill the Calvin factor is seriously reduced.

I might want to watch her Haskell again.
This was clearly her best race last year, when she set a stalking trip.
The Mother Goose and Ky Oaks were OK as well....

Tactics are not the issue with her, she just isn't as good as last year.

She was a half length off a 46.2 and a neck off a 109.4.

That is a far cry from 48.4 and 112.2 in a shorter race.

Put her on a plane to Cali for that little 6/13 affair at HP

Switch to cushion may be just what she needs at this point

Great point, we know Zenyatta has been facing creampuffs all these years. Maybe Rachel can string together 2 or 3 and add to her 1 win over phonytrack record, she won't even have to carry 130 to do it, or not until she can string together 16 in row over these same creampuffs Zenyatta has been facing. The ducker that she is.

No, No, No

You Zenyatta lovers have it ALL WRONG. It's NOT ABOUT whether RA beats Z or even if she's DUCKING Z. This is ALL ABOUT whether Z stops DUCKING her AND all those MALES she's supposed to be running against. How the **** do you clowns repeatedly lose sight of this? I mean, RA has done enough where she's beyond reproach and Z just keeps DUCKING (RA and the males) while getting SLOWER. Forget about the fact she also keeps winning and, pretty much, none of the other girls want anything to do with her. In BEYERland, it's all about the NUMBERS. (Of course, BEYERS on POLY --and elsewhere-- are useless but why would that stand in anyone's way?)

Is "replaced" the right word? http://drf.com/news/article/113021.html This says he's working for Dallas Stewart now. Shouldn't be a commentary on Borel. It helps that you don't go chucking a Churchill-rail lovin' jockey when he just won his 3rd Derby in 4 years and the BCC is there. Of course applying logic to Jess Jackson is gonna generate a reaction like when you combine baking soda and vinegar, or mentos and soda. I just find it hard to believe Calvin suddenly forgot how to ride her. I'm thinking it has to do with instruction. If he gets allowed to ride her like he did last year, I wonder what they're afraid of. I still think some of it is either not trusting her fitness level still (compared to what she'd try to do with her body if allowed) or a notion that they need to rate more than they have to deal with Zenyatta later.

Doesn't matter who rides her or who she runs against... She will not get back to her brilliant self unless she is allowed to train in the way that Hal Wiggins did. She needs to train fast and let her do her 2 minute licks. Then at least she will be happy and fit. Restraining her in her works and not letting her run in the morning seems to be souring her.
