Default BEL Wednesday: Uncoupled entry era is here..

It took almost 5 years for Racing & Wagering to allow it, but Wednesday is the day!

While there is a Violette pair (one turf and one MTO) uncoupled entry in the 1st, it looks like the first true uncoupled 'entry' in NY is Phil Serpe's pair in the 6th..

When you have a lot of money (bills) you don't need to fold it in half to get the feeling of 'doubling' it.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but doesn't there seem something wrong with having the Ward horses uncoupled in today's fourth race at Saratoga (similar thing occurs on Thursday in race 2)? Ward is listed as owner/trainer on one horse, and as trainer on another. It would seem to me that, under these circumstances, these horses should be coupled. How is this handled in other states?
