Joe.. Thx for the thoughts...

"Attire" leaning towards Monmouth Saturday.. or Suffolk?

I know you're getting pressure to go Mass Cap, but as Pat says, he's never really run well there... And the 9f is an issue too, no? Good field shaping up for that Point Given if you go with Phil the Power and Delosvientios.

Delosvientios is the problem. He has beat Attire twice as the only speed in the race. If he gets out by himself on a speed favoring track like Monmouth, Attire may have a hard time running him down.
I would rather take a shot at the MassCap, third pays more than a win at Mommouth but Pat and I disagree on this one.

and I believe Santa Anita has 6 grade 1 races on the same day.

It will be a welcome change from the usual post-Saratoga and Del Mar lull during September.

I'm amped for JCGC day. Likely to be my last day at the track this year, and should be a great day of racing. Hope the weather cooperates.

I might make it out there as well. Who's up for a bike ride from Brooklyn?

Sounds like he prepped perfectly for the Brooklyn (or is that back to 1 1/2 miles to the sudden resurgence of stamina in the breed?).

Thanks.

Thanks.

They ran the Brooklyn, at 1 1/2 miles, on Belmont Day.

Oh.

I wonder how NYRA's going to fill that hole in the Fall stakes schedule now.

No race for older horses 8 days prior to the Jockey Club Gold Cup?

From DRF
Spirit One and Casino Drive are the latest foreigners headed to Santa Anita for America's richest prize, the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic.

The NYRA racing office was sure Spirit One has going to the JCGC. I guess they were wrong

You may be right, but why are those races mutually exclusive?

The rest of the quote
"Arlington Million winner Spirit One will use Santa Anita's Goodwood Stakes on Sept. 27 as a trial for his intended run in the Classic."
