Default Autobahn Girl

Good to see her in the winners circle again. I thought early on she was capable of being one of the better 3yo's this year, but obviously I was wrong. Maybe there was some physical issues?

I'm sure others have more specifics about her, but one thing I know is she changed hands from Zito to Pierce. She ran a non-descript comeback race in Canada about a month ago, then ran huge yesterday while very wide through-out. Was actually the highlight of my wagering day, as I had a small win bet on her.

I thought of asking Andy....but I hesitate in pulling him away from his "list"

Glad you had some win $$ on her Seth.

I didn't cash a dollar on her, though she gave me some very fun moments in the finale after she opened my late double up. Was sitting on anywhere from $500-$1500 depending on who won the closer....needless to say, it was not any of the horses I needed.

She looked great though.

Wonderful to see her come back to her form. She is 3/4 to multi-millionaire Golden Missile. They have the same AP Indy-Cure the Blues cross.

While they do have the same cross....they come from different dams.

Autobahn Girl is out of the excellent sprinting race mare Saoirise.

Golden Missile is out of Santa Catalina

Thus, she is not 3/4 to GM.

She is 3/4 to Golden Missile. They share 3 out of 4 grand parents making them 3/4 to each other. They share the same cross, therefore they are 3/4 to each other. This is not a tough concept.

Furthermore, Golden Missile has 3 reines de course in his family. Judy O'Grady, Agnes Sard, and Blue Denim. His family is solid. Autobahn Girl has 3 reines on her family line. Beaver Street, Stolen Kiss, and Mitrailleuse.

If they also shared the same dam they would be FULL siblings. Because they share 3 out of 4 grandparents they are 3/4 to each other. Just like Desert Warrior is 3/4 to Go Deputy and Dehere.

Oh brother!

Ok - let's say that Autobahn Girl was by Slew City Slew out of her real dam Saorise (a Cure the Blues mare)

And Golden Missile is by his real sire A. P. Indy out of his real dam Santa Catalina (a Cure the Blues mare)

They would share 2 out of the 4 grandparents and WOULD NOT be half siblings.

In horse racing, you have to come from the same dam to be any kind of a sibling to a horse.

While if they were humans you'd be right, You are confusing having the same cross with being a 75% sibling in horse racing terms.

No one said that Z Humor was a 3/4 sibling to Any Given Saturday because he shared the same cross (sire and dam sire) - they both came from different mares!

An example of what would be considered a 3/4 sibling would be....

Bold Legacy - by Seattle Slew out of the mare Cara Rafeala

Bernardini - by A. P. Indy (a son of Seattle Slew) out of the mare Cara Rafeala.

Exactly my thoughts bud. 3/4 means 3 out of the same 4 grandparents. Simple. Except for you 2 simpletons who insist on over analyzing everything.

True.

I showed good restraint earlier in the day - with Sniper's analogy of saying Daheer losing at Fort Erie was equal to saying Pleasantly Perfect, Azeri, and Birdstone all lost at Lone Star...because the POW is Fort Erie's most important race.

When, in fact, the correct analogy would have been made using Skip Away and Midnight Lute's sire Real Quiet - who both were upset in the Texas Mile at Lone Star. The young tracks most important race.

You're right though...as usual.

Apologize to Sniper for lumping him in with this insanity.

No sir. I subscribe to the www.pedigreequery.com definition of 3/4 cross even if I don't have your all permission. 3/4 is a simple way to describe that 2 horses share the same 3 grand parents. If you want to amend that further, and further, and further, far be it for me to tell you not to.

So, if two horses share the same four grandparents, does that make them twins?

Full siblings?

Clones?

Closely related?
