I meant to post this right after the race on August 8th but it didn't happen, so here it goes....
On August 8th in Race #4, Fixador, got what I consider a very curious ride. Just looked like a jog around the track. Sat comfortably in stalking range....and then was never really asked....at least not until it was to late. Had best turf fig in the field, and had run that 1st time Lasix in last start, albeit quite awhile before. I was thinking that I would get my answer with finding out where they end up next. If they stay at Saratoga=live. If they move on=thumbs down.
Looks like the Grade 1 Sword Dancer on Travers Day. I know this horse may have just needed one, but I firmly believe they didn't even try in this race, and that this may be a very good one. Off an effort that dull, this race seems impossible.
Fixador may just be the putover of the meet on Saturday as these connections didn't even bother to tip their hand a little on August 8th.
