When Martin Short had his Jiminy Glick show, he would sometimes have the SCTV veterans on and they were always the best guests because their improv background was so strong they could go toe-to-toe with him. His "interview" with Catherine O'Hara was like watching the comedy equivalent of two world-class aerialists. I searched on Youtube yesterday, hoping he'd had Harold Ramis on, but no luck.
My husband and I were speculating which of Ramis' films will be funny to our kid when he's old enough to watch them (since comedy changes over time). I don't know about
Caddyshack (much as I loved it) but I think
Vacation and of course,
Ghostbusters, will hold up for a very, very long time.
Vacation is funnier to me now than it was when I saw it as a kid (it was my very first rated-R movie).
