I think it makes a lot of sense to run Showing Up on the dirt...at least in the beginning of the year. He has already shown that he is at least VERY good on the dirt and I would assume a Grade 1 or two on the dirt would greatly enhance his value and stud potential. I would target the Met Mile, which is a perfect race for him, especially if Discreet Cat is not coming. The only problem with that is the Manhattan, a Grade 1 at 1 1/4 on the turf, is just a week away. However, winning that is only dollars, and wouldn't enhance his value, and I doubt these owners are overly concerned with earnings. The big turf races really don't start until the Arlington Million. Truthfully I think they would be very foolish to never try this horse on the dirt in a Grade 1...and Tagg is no fool.

I just love watching this horse run. At a time with few good horses he is genuinely a good horse. No hype. He just runs well every time.
