Heard Spielberg sat on the film for almost 10 years, because he wanted Daniel to play Lincoln and no one else. Apparently Daniel at the time thought Lincoln was too iconic to be played by himself.
What shocks me is Sally Field, the only one I felt that was miscast in the film, but surprisingly worked.
