I'm sure they take a cut of every check as payment.
I have a family member who tried (in PA) and it was pretty ridiculous. I mean, yes, she had to stop work in her 40s due to debilitating rheumatoid arthritis, but her husband made enough to support them both, so she didn't need SSDI and didn't bother to try to claim it. Ten years after she stopped working she then decided to try to qualify. Why, I have no idea, as they still didn't need the money. Fortunately, no SSDI lawyer would take the case, so she gave up.

yeah, it can be frustrating (especially when it's a family member, who was raised the same as me-ya want it, earn it). i know a lady whose husband fell from scaffolding, about 20 feet, and has extreme damage to a knee. denied.
my other sister has diabetes that became so difficult to control that they installed an insulin pump-she works.
i have stress, i work (i take a little magic pill every day

).
a guy my husband worked with-he got hurt at work, they gave him an easy job (he has no disability-at least when it comes to hunting, fishing, etc, etc) but then years later the job went away. he's on disability. so he can haul a deer carcass, skin it, he can sit in a john boat all day (ow) but he can't work.
yeah, my bro is a loser. won't even work a bit on the side to bring in a few bucks. you're allowed to earn some money in addition to benefits. he and his family lived with my folks for a while...my mother, two back surgeries for herniated discs-she worked. my brother? no, on w of w all day. my dad works at the golf course, told my brother he'd put him on the finish mower, so he wouldn't have to worry about bumps on the greens. nope.
