This is a massive power consolidation by the elite of the Republican Party, within the remaining structure of the party, with reaches far beyond just removing Ron Paul now and Rand in the future.

They've successfully kicked out the influence and moderation of the state parties and the delegates, and changed it so the top can make all the rules for the national party, and change those rules outside of the organization (Republican National Committee)

The GOP elite just circumvented their own rules, and eliminated the states and delegates from having any influence on the rules of the national party.
.
The GOP is hardly a "party" any more. It's owned by just a few at the top now. Mitt is just their lackey.

Consider this: the national Republican Party members now have zero input, moderation or control from "states" and "voting" regarding how the party is run, who the candidate is, delegate input, etc; and Citizens United consolidated the ability of money to purchase government in this country.

Why do you think the Republican Party Platform is 100% crazy Tea Party extremism? It doesn't matter. It's only there to get the "base "to vote for the chosen elite candidate.

BTW - anybody remember who won the GOP Iowa delegates caucuses? Announced in the press as "Mitt Romney wins Iowa", right?

Until weeks later, when it was suddenly announced that a "recount" indicated Rick Santorum "won" Iowa? (too late for Santorum to get a surge from that win, btw, Romney was already on a roll).

Turns out Ron Paul, working Iowa caucuses as it should be, actually won the most: 22 Iowa delegates.

Ron Paul won the GOP primary contest in Iowa.

PS Paul supporters still begging him to run as third-party candidate this election. We'll see.
