Even though he failed to win the Borderland Derby (or any other race at Sunland) -- Mine That Bird gets the race re-named in his honor.
Anyway, he certainly wasn't the best recent horse to get drubbed in the state of New Mexico. Real Quiet was 3rd at the now defunct Downs at Santa Fe.
