I doubt anybody thought that. It's backwards.
The thought would be that the election of a mixed-race president could occur in the first place because enough voters were less biased or racist.

Yeah, a shame, as this is the most free country in the world, created out of immigrants and mixed races. Too bad the hate and racism of some persists, even here. Look at the Christian Taliban here. Look at Rick Santorums current "preacher" problem, just like Rev. Wright, the preacher telling everyone not like him to get out of the USA. It's disgusting, their hate to non-what-they-are.
And that hate and racism and bigotry should be least tolerable in the United States than anywhere else on earth, according to our Constitution. Our whole existence here is founded upon, "All men are created equal".
Obama's election merely brought the racist and intolerating and bigoted out of their crypts, where we can point at them in disgust.
