I hit the f'n exacta with 2 pace horses believe it or not. It wasn't my intent for it to be that way, I kinda hit it by accidnet.
The winner, Boogie Hollow was the #3 horse who went off at 10-1. In it's only lifetime start prior to this race, it botched the start and never ran... He had a good trainer/jock combo, with some decent works, so I figured if he starts well today who know? I put him in my 3 horse exacta box thinking he'd close though.
The #5 horse I knew would shoot to the lead, but I thought maybe he'd be lone speed, so I tried bucking the trend of closers there, and included him in the exacta box.
My other horse was the #12 horse, who closed nicely in his only other lifetime start. Since it was on the Turfway Poly, I figured maybe he'd build on that finish in this race. He didn't unfortunately.
But! The #3, Boogie Hollow, shot straight to the lead, with the #5 horse (Rock N Sydney). They raced all the way in the lead, and no one came back. Boogie Hollow finished running away with it, and the #5 finished a comfortable 2nd. Unfortunately the #12 didn't do too well, because I had a tri box too, but I'll take that $165 $1 exacta payoff hehe.
2 pace horses hold up... hmmm....
