I couldn't disagree more. The attack should not be a defining moment but rather the response of New York in particular and the country as a whole should. The unity the country experienced following the attack needs to be celebrated. While we take off our shoes every time we board a plane our government has refused to secure the boarders. They have gone so far as to sue the State of Arizona on behalf of illegals. They have given our tax money away to countries that harbored our biggest enemy and just recently burned down the embassy of one of our greatest allies. Countries that consider a woman slightly above a dog. The billions spent fighting and killing them were far better spent than the billions simply given to them. IMO

This past week it's been difficult to hear the stories from the children who lost parents on that day. For them and the memories of those who died that day, particularly those who died trying to save someone else, we need to remain focused. As a country we need to remember the celebrations that occurred throughout the Arab world following the attack on our innocent civilians instead of trying to forget it.

Thank God our country responded and continues to respond safe and aware as opposed to crawling into a corner with out of control fear.
