It happens fairly often, actually. 8 of the past 23 Peter Pan winners have skipped the Belmont: Sightseeing, Oratory, Hero's Tribute, Banker's Gold, Twining, Seeking The Gold, Profit Key, and Go Rockin Robin.
9 if you count late scratch Casino Drive.
