that was my whole point....it is a bad bet. if i'm going to bet 400 on picking 6 horse races....i better get more than 3-1. thats what my first post said. gee, i'm going to bet 800 to get 820..on some gimmick half the world is betting....you were right its over 5 times the parlay...but its a dime and your burning numbers and a ticket or two.....plus yesterdays paid 2236 a little more than three times the parlay...there were two 3 dollar horses friday and a 8-5...so all the hoopla was worth it i guess according to you. i would never bet thinking thats a great win...but whatever. i got 1600, like thousands of other people that split with a friend. its a freakin pic 6 for crying out loud....i can find better deals than your theory betting to win and place..on one race...the way i usually bet or exactas...that things called a rainbow for reason...its a lousy dime and you are chasing the rainbow not the split, thats the whole point....there were 100,000 live tickets after the 10th race(with 2 races left)....just like i said in my original post....yeah ,,,it was going to pay big balloons........lol. you guys think i'm bragging like i get rich at this.....i do not...i can lose 2000 as soon as win it. but i'm not going to risk 700 to get 3200 and pick 6 horse races unless i intend on hitting hit all. yup half the world was chasing 3,000 dollars....it was a real jackpot. the only number i care about is ROI....i bet week in ....week out . keep records every month and tally the year. its a grind and an investment, the bottom line is all that matters.....and how much i have to bet to get so much back if i win....that thing could of paid 100 times the parlay...for someone like me its still looks like you bet 400 to get 1600. do the tellers give bonuses for beating the parlay? where i come from you made 3-1...on a pic 6. a few days from now when i throw my money back in the pool its still only a lousy 1600 for a pic 6 with a pool of 5.7 million...i can bet 200 of that on ONE horse i like and maybe win more if i'm right. in under a minute and a half. thats the reality of betting all the time..... ROI...they site it all the time in the NYRA show but i guess in derby trail land it does not matter...you'll do real well betting every day hitting pic 6's that pay 1600.....and like i said that was at 10 freakin cents...which is the only reason i played the thing....bet a little get alot...i got kicked in the teeth friday ...i admitted it...i was taking a shot not getting cute with the parlay. derby trails theory having to hit 6 horse races and getting an 8 dollar mutuel is a big victory....i'll remember that one.
