I guess the horse was named Khakomon Leo at first (so say his past peformances anyway - that is weird for a first time starter) ... but the horse ended up racing under the name Steve Leo, Jr.
In case anyone is wondering - Steve Leo, Jr. (the horse) rose from maiden claiming ranks to become a solid stakes winning horse who earned almost 100K in the mid 60's. The moral of the story seems to be that if you give a horse a really foul name ... good things will probably happen.

Slam Bang is kind of dirty too. What kind of closet perverts owned horses back in the day?
