Call me a wussy, but I just get queasy about decisions like this. I know all the reasons to do it, but after a certain point it just feels like pressing one's luck. This mare is so deservedly beloved by us all, that if something happened to her next year, it would be devastating. Not my $$$, not my horse, but I'd say, you've done enough, baby, time to relax and take the high hard one (yes, I know--foaling is risky too).
Now that I've said this, I've virtually assured her of a lights-out season next year. And I will be very happy to have been so wrong.
