The general public simply has no idea how many horses are being catastophically injured on poly. Turfway, didnt give an accurate number. However, Woodbine has had 3 horses breakdown fatally over their new surface during training hours. These tracks arent going to give accurate figures, it would make them look foolish.
If a horse cannot get over a good conventional dirt surface soundly, they shouldnt be running, period. The breeding is what needs to change, not the racing surfaces.
