They are not asking "voters" to pay for the debt, they are asking their political supporters to continue helping them. Political supporters are limited in how much they can donate to candidates - and that includes how much a candidate can use of their own private funds to pay for their own campaign.
I would like to ask all of you to help me pay off my bills I know I didnt run for office but the support would be greatly appriciated
