It's a valiant and honorable path to choose...and not one I would certainly choose...but it's the idea that Nascar is totally against handouts, while b*tching that his handout didn't increase this year to his satisfaction that is what gets people going. Nobody here will be caught saying that these people don't deserve to be taken care of for their service...quite the opposite, but it's the fact that people like Nascar are so intellectually dishonest about their pension/health care/cost of living increases etc, while bemoaning anyone who gets a f*cking dime from the government is what borders on comical, because it's just a repeated chorus of "hey where is MY handout?!?!?!" against "hey wait, no WAY do YOU get a handout!"
