Good luck gentlemen...

Jockey Shane Dye, Aaron Gryder, Brett Prebble and Zac Purton
22 February 2010
Shane Dye

It was previously advertised that permission had been granted for Jockey Shane Dye to ride FAIR TRADE in the Citibank Hong Kong Gold Cup (HK Group 1) scheduled to be conducted at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 28 February 2010. Permission was granted on the basis that FAIR TRADE would be entered for both the Citibank Hong Kong Gold Cup (HK Group 1) and the Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Derby (HK Group 1). The Stewards have this morning been advised by Trainer Caspar Fownes that FAIR TRADE has not been entered for the Citibank Hong Kong Gold Cup (HK Group 1). As such, Jockey Dye has been advised that as FAIR TRADE will not take its place in the scheduled race he is no longer eligible to accept race riding engagements at the Sha Tin race meeting to be conducted on Sunday, 28 February 2010.

Aaron Gryder

Permission has been granted for Club Jockey Aaron Gryder to accept an invitation to ride in the King's Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday, 26 February 2010.

Jockey Gryder has advised that he intends to depart Hong Kong on Thursday, 25 February 2010 and to return to Hong Kong on Saturday, 27 February 2010 in order to fulfil race riding engagements at the Sha Tin race meeting scheduled to be held the next day. As such, Jockey Gryder will not miss a Hong Kong race meeting.

Jockey Gryder has also been given permission to accept an invitation to ride at Meydan Racecourse, Dubai at the "Super Thursday" Meeting on Thursday, 4 March 2010 as well as on Friday, 5 March 2010 where he will compete in the "Meydan Masters" Jockeys' Challenge. As a consequence of riding at these race meetings, Jockey Gryder will be unavailable to accept riding engagements at the Sha Tin race meeting on Saturday, 6 March 2010.

Brett Prebble

Permission has been granted for Club Jockey Brett Prebble to be absent from Hong Kong in order to partner DAO DAO, trained by John, Wayne and Michael Hawkes, in the Futurity Stakes (Group 1) scheduled to be conducted at Caulfield Racecourse, Australia on Saturday, 27 February 2010. Jockey Prebble, who was suspended for careless riding at yesterday's Sha Tin race meeting, will commence his term of suspension following his riding commitment at Caulfield Racecourse and will resume race riding at the Sha Tin race meeting on Saturday, 6 March 2010.

Jockey Prebble has advised that he holds a commitment to ride DAO DAO in the Champions Mile (International Group 1) on Sunday, 25 April 2010 should it be invited to run at the event and then subsequently travel to Hong Kong.

Zac Purton

Permission has been granted for Club Jockey Zac Purton to be absent from Hong Kong in order to partner CORPORAL JONES, trained by Andrew Scott, in the New Zealand Derby (Group 1) scheduled to be conducted at Ellerslie Racecourse, Auckland on Saturday, 6 March 2010.

Jockey Purton has advised that he intends to depart Hong Kong on Thursday, 4 March 2010 and to return to Hong Kong on Sunday, 7 March 2010. As such, Jockey Purton will be unavailable to accept riding engagements at the Sha Tin race meeting on Saturday, 6 March 2010.

In granting permission for Jockey Purton to ride in the race, Management was mindful that CORPORAL JONES is part-owned by Hong Kong interests and that it is intended for the horse to do its future racing in Hong Kong following its start in New Zealand Derby
