look what they went from 2 years ago, to their rooster now. Playoff contender to a sold off team. Gil is a POS, plain and simple. People wanted Ernie's head when he signed him to that ridiculous contract in the first place. Obviously all these trades did was free up cap space, all the humans they got are spare parts and one way or another there was a reason they got traded, they get younger though? They have the "rights" to a foreign player, crapshoot, a basement 1st rounder from the cavs, howard ugh... and thornton might be the only keeper in the bunch (didn’t even mention Big Z, well, b/c he’s Big Z).
You're not gonna attract ANY high profile FA's, who wants to come to DC and play for a franchise that’s in transition and their best player is either suspended or hurt for the majority... of EVERY year. they're gonna have to build from the draft, which is gonna take years. I agree once ted gets his foot in the door its gonna be a fire sale at first, he's probably gonna clean house like he did with the caps, so the wiz are on the 3-5 year plan as i see it.
It’s amazing how wiz tickets are now given away, go to a game on a friday night there, place is half filled at best. On the flip side, you have to give your first born for caps tickets, 3 years ago it was the exact opposite
