i do notice better sound on some blu-ray releases but i spent more on the sound system than i did on the tv so there you go.
all the high def programming is a game changer from standard though. if i had it all to do over again, i'd have spent less on the tv (going 720p) and even more on the speakers. i love playing music on this system. and the blu-ray's are a bonus.

There are pretty good guides online as to screen size in relation to distance from the TV and they pretty much forced me to get a 67 inch TV cause I already had a 53 inch TV and the distance to my TV was 12-15 feet. That was the only way I could be physically capable of seeing 720p against 1080p. But yet, the 720 over Dish looks almost identical to the 1080p over Blu-Ray. However, the DVD on 480p/1080i looks like crap now on the 67 inch even though it looked great at 53 inches.
