The claim in that race if you gave me the 50k would be Usurp. I would immediately ship him out of CA to Philly/NY inner where his natural speed is a plus and wont be used against him.

That was my point as it seemed like his Fairplex effort would sort of portend dirt ability. He is a half to Sly, who's not a very good horse by any stretch but has been an effective turf sprinter. Thus, if you brought him to a place like NY and ran him on the inner for the winter then looked at the turf sprints in the spring and summer you could get the money back.
It would also seem like Ron Ellis would be a decent trainer to claim off of since he doesn't seem to overwork his horses.
