I'm curious as to what would make our health care system the best in the world. Enlighten me...please.
Uh... how about the highest life expectency for starters? The pharmaceuticals the rest of the world uses are researched, invented and made here. Medical equipment, not to mention the medical schools themselves: Johns Hopkins just one example.

When a case of Siamese twins is reported, where is the surgery almost always performed to separate them? Here. When world leaders get sick, where do many of them come for surgery? Here.

You can't be that obtuse. I'm certain you are just trying to be sarcastic in favor of your leftist sensibilities. In that case, you probably already believe that idiot Michael Moore, in which case I guess you'll be going to Cuba for any necessary surgery or advanced medical care. Take a number, they'll get to you in around 18 months. While your at it, go to the UK for dentistry too. They're pulling out their own teeth over there because they can't get an appointment -- that's how good socialized medicine is.

Let's increase the demand and decrease the supply, that'll work out real well. How does that happen? Simple. By making everything "free" (note the quotes), every splinter or hangnail will go to the Emergency Room. Hospitals will fill with less severe cases from more vocal and politically protected classes, even those who don't speak English so it's harder to get a medical history. Couple that with putting price caps on medical care, in the hope that hospitals and doctors will operate at a loss, and all of a sudden less potential doctors want to go into medical school. The price caps alone would do that just like the gas station lines in the 70's. Price fixing doesn't work.

We'll soon have Soviet-style lines wrapping around the corner. John Stossel showed this about the Canadian system while he was still working at ABC.

Get a clue -- a leftist arrogant delivery does not constitute a brilliant point. Those who haven't consumed the Obama Kool-Aid aren't buying it. 2010 will be a bad year if you're looking for blue on that election map.
