i agree with you.

rather than people looking at this situation and putting what they'd do in the place of what shirreffs and the mosses will do, you have to look at the whole picture, and what they've had to say for two years now. they've never run this mare anywhere halfway gutsy. she's rewarded them by tying personal ensign. one more win, she surpasses that horse. the distaff would be as close as a lock for her as you can get. she's rewarded two years of racing and perfect handling by her trainer and owners with a perfect record. i don't see them changing course now, at this late stage. a loss would be one fear, we all know what their other fears would be-and with what has been said in the past about this mare facing colts, i just don't see them changing their minds now.
zenyatta may race again past the bc and into the spring. she could be bred and still run a few more months. if they have the record set by pepper's pride in their sights, she could very well be the one to break it. the chances of that happening if she leaves the usual suspects is somewhere between slim and none.

it isn't the route i'd like to see, but i believe that is the route you will see-regardless of what the fans want.
