Because they are completely desensitized to experiences like the thrall of Baltimore Saturday, or too frightened to feel the despair of Louisville a year ago, they try to diminish the experience for those intrepid enough to brave racing's natural highs and lows. Too bad for them. They don't know what they're missing.
