Jerry Hollendorfer is from my home town for all intents and purposes, and his home track is here in my back yard.
Darn right
Chocolate Candy will be a sentimental fave for me.
That said, I'm really sort of surprised how much support he's getting here for hitting the board.
I'll likely have him in a couple combos, but I truly think he's gonna have to have an amazingly good trip and a bunch of other horses have an amazingly poor trip for Hollendorfer to get a nice Derby finish this time.
I don't like the fact that Smith is on Chocolate Candy for the first time.
I like less that he's had a heavy dose of 6 and 7 horse fields he's been competing against in his last five races. If a horse could say
"WTF??", I think that's what he might be saying when the gates open with 20 on Saturday.
