The three venue carryovers on Friday at New York, Florida and California, produced enough outrageous winners that none of the respective sextets were successfully negotiated. As a result, Aqueduct's 6 starts at $91,373, Gulfstream's at $46,307, and Santa Anita's at a whopping $1,210,707. For budget purposes Saturday, the Arcadia pool, likely to reach $4,000,000, is the only one to chase...

I had a largely poor afternoon approaching the day's 18 races, though a few isolated trifectas kept the day from being totally wallet-draining. In Ozone Park, Mr. Again (4th; $40.20) and Awesome Ashley (8th; $24.20) were the culprits that stopped multi-race anglers, while at Gulfstream, $28 Tadisha (7th) and several 3rd or 4th choice types derailed dreamers. Santa Anita was even more inscrutable, as $30+ Shantika's Dream (4th) and Bonjour (7th) combined with 3 other $12-$17 winners to ensure a third straight unhit skien.

In addition to the Cali carryover, a very interesting late double at Gulfstream and the great stakes card at Fair Grounds are my focus.. Hope you did OK Friday and that we can get a few things cooking today!
