BUT, he could still be a failure. one in ten-that doesn't mean one in ten good ones. a lot of horses with huge potential were absolute duds, and racetrack prowess does nothing for their second career.
look at where the bid ended up for one, alysheba is another. no givens, and not much time to prove themselves. he either shows early promise, or he'll get sold and shipped off.

Danzig hasnt exactly been a real live stallion line in this country for a long time. Langfuhr and Belong to Me are really the only Danzigs that are doing much in the US though Exchange rate is ok and War Chant is a so so turf only sire. Danzig has done much better as a turf sire overseas and though I personally have no problems with that the fact is that he will be considered a bust if he is not a top dirt sire. His female side also tends to be grassy.
