Generally speaking..
Blog: One or a handful of dorks posting entries/articles on one site, on which people can leave comments in a separate section. Ideas/topics created by the blog's writer. Can be classified as journalism when done well.
Message Board: Thousands of dorks simultaneously posting thousands of threads and replying to each other on one site. Ideas/topics created by anyone. Never mistaken for journalism.
