I think for the most part golfers are tremendous athletes. Their athleticism differs from other sports (as all sports differ). I spent a morning at Dolphins training camp last week and I am absolutely amazed at the athleticism of all football players, especially the very large linemen who do carry a lot of weight. But I do think golfers are athletes as well. They walk 5-6 miles a day, 5-6 days a week and every five minutes they execute a shot that requires strerngth, skill and the ability to perform under pressure. I don't think there is much more individual pressure in any sport than in golf on a Sunday when every shot can mean $50,000 or much more.
