i read timms comments earlier on hitler, and thought perhaps they were incorrect...so i took the time this evening to get my two volume ian kershaw bio of hitler off the shelf....large books, but well written and worth the time it takes to read them if you're at all interested in trying to figure out that whole horrible time, and how he managed to get in power, what made him, etc.

at any rate, i pored over the index of both books, and satanism is nowhere in there. i don't believe a guy could write approximately 2000 pages on one person and not touch on satanism--this bio is pretty detailed--so i have to believe that perhaps it's not the case. certainly it could be elsewhere, but i can't recall seeing it before today.
as for jews being attacked to make a master race, that's not the case. hitler loathed and despised the jews-he blamed them for losing ww 1, for the subsequent difficulties and loss of land after the war, the economic troubles, etc. basically everything that went wrong from ww1's beginning right on thru til he attained power-and he fed that hatred and acted upon it til the day he died. he didn't force the jews out of the german economy, out of the country, encourage kristallnacht, and then decide on extermination because he wanted a master race; it was hate and a thirst for revenge that brought it about. he hated the jews simply for being Jewish.

from mein kampf (and quoted in the kershaw book) 'the sacrifice of millions at the front' would not have been necessary if 'twelve or fiften thousand of these Hebrew corrupters of the people had been held under poison gas'. absolutely chilling stuff.
