7/17: Belmont (6th-9th)
Strange but ultimately satisfying afternoon Wednesday with the Del Mar Opener suffering from some ADW platform issues but finishing well with a $150k carryover. Struggled through the late Quad at San Diego, though the $117.20 trifecta in the 7th dulled the P4 loss.
Belmont card try featured identification of a number of key horses, but the best tab of the day went astray. In the 7th, Classic Impact jumped at me as a 'Best Value' type (20-1 ML), and the Englehart (Finger Lakes sharpie) trainee went off at 46-1. Classic Impact rallied to be 2nd ($35.00, $15.40), but without an opportunity to adjust thoughts after the scratch of the heavy favorite (Frankel's Veritable), I didn't bet him straight and couldn't connect him to the 8-1 winner (Kettle Two). Uggh...
Not going to have a chance to look at the DMR P6 carryover, but did attack the Belmont P4 which is totally 'green'... Hope you did well Wednesday!
